Qualifications:
- Prior tandem press operation experience is required
- Ability to lift to 40lbs repetitively
- GED or High School Diploma required
- Abliity to do repetitive work
- Must have excellent attention to detail
- Ability to read and comprehend manufacturing and operational procedures
Skills:
- Sets up and operates power press to trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp metal.
- Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications working with die setters
- Install nest and fingers
- Positions work piece in nest or feeder
- Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction
- Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors including first piece
- Cleans press machines
- Catches, packs and inspects parts
- Operates quality gages and performs hourly checks
- Completes log tags, production reports, and die maintenance control forms
- Participates in continuous improvement activities including automation and tooling improvements
- Assumes other duties as directed by supervisor.
The Tandem Press Operator will be responsible for operating and setting up a Tadem press machine and performing quality inspection while ensuring the production rate is met. This is a 2nd shift position working 1:30pm-9:30pm (Monday-Friday.) Must be able to train on first week for a week from 5:30am-1:30pm.
