TIG Welder, $20-25/hr, Detroit MI
We are seeking an experienced and skilled TIG Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using (TIG) welding techniques to fabricate and repair metal structures, components, and parts. This role requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The TIG Welder will work on a variety of metal materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys, ensuring high-quality welds for both structural and precision projects.
Key Responsibilities:
● Perform TIG welding on a variety of metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.
● Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
● Set up welding equipment, including adjusting settings and ensuring the proper materials are used for each project.
● Inspect and clean weld areas to ensure they meet required quality standards.
● Conduct quality checks on welded parts, measuring for accuracy and strength.
● Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to welding processes and equipment.
● Collaborate with other team members, including fabricators and engineers, to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
● Follow all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring the safety of the work area.
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent. Welding certification or degree preferred.
● Minimum of [3] years of TIG welding experience, preferably in automotive, construction, aerospace, manufacturing.
● Proficient in TIG welding techniques and the ability to work with various metals and alloys.
● Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
● Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality welds.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
● Ability to lift and move heavy materials as required. Physical Requirements:
● Ability to stand for extended periods.
● Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
● Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
● Willingness to work in hot, noisy, or challenging environments.
