Job Summary
Are you a skilled and detail-oriented tradesperson looking to take the next step in your career? We're seeking a Toolmaker to join our team in Muskegon, MI. In this role, you’ll be an essential part of a precision manufacturing team—building, repairing, and maintaining tools, dies, and fixtures to support high-quality production.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Toolmaker, your core responsibilities will include:
- Build, repair, and maintain tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to meet production requirements.
- Precision Machining: Operate manual and CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders to fabricate tool components.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose issues with tooling and make necessary adjustments or repairs to minimize downtime.
In addition, you will also be expected to collaborate with engineers and production teams, ensure tooling meets specifications, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Toolmaker or in tool and die required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must wear steel-toe or composite toe shoes and safety glasses
Skills:
- Precision & Accuracy: Strong attention to detail when building and repairing tools
- Machining Knowledge: Experience with manual and/or CNC machining equipment
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues and implement solutions
- Safety Awareness: Understanding of shop safety practices and procedures
