Truck Mechanic Location: Grandville, MI Shift: 1st Shift | Flexible Schedule Between 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday-Friday) Pay: Starting at $25/hr, based on experience Overtime: May be required as needed Job Summary Are you an experienced mechanic who enjoys working on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment? We're seeking a Truck Mechanic to join our team in Grandville, MI. In this role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company fleet vehicles and equipment, helping keep operations running safely and efficiently. What You'll Be Doing As a Truck Mechanic, your core responsibilities will include: ? Diagnosing and repairing fleet vehicles: Perform maintenance and repairs on trailers, pickup trucks, forklifts, overhead cranes, and other company equipment. ? Troubleshooting mechanical issues: Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and operational problems with minimal supervision. ? Performing preventative maintenance: Complete scheduled inspections and maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and reduce downtime. ? Reading technical documentation: Utilize prints, schematics, owner's manuals, and service documentation to facilitate repairs and maintenance activities. ? Maintaining repair records: Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs completed, parts used, and inspection findings. ? Supporting a diverse fleet: Work on a variety of company vehicles and equipment, as well as occasional personal vehicles owned by management. ? Ensuring workplace safety: Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment. What We're Looking For Qualifications: ? Previous experience working on a variety of vehicles and industrial equipment. ? Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues independently. ? Experience performing preventative maintenance and general repairs. ? Willingness to work overtime when needed. ? Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. ? Strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision. ? Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment. Skills & Expertise: ? Mechanical Systems: Strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. ? Electrical Systems: Thorough understanding of electrical systems and components used in vehicles and equipment. ? Hydraulic Systems: Experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems and related equipment. ? Technical Documentation: Ability to read and interpret prints, schematics, owner's manuals, and service documentation. ? Welding & Fabrication: Welding experience preferred to assist with equipment and vehicle repairs. ? Preventative Maintenance: Ability to identify potential issues and perform routine maintenance to reduce breakdowns and improve equipment performance. Work Environment ? Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and industrial equipment. ? Noise levels in the work environment are typically loud. ?
