Job Summary
The Warehouse Associate supports day-to-day warehouse operations by safely handling, organizing, and processing inbound and outbound freight. This role is responsible for accurate order picking, staging, labeling, and documentation to ensure timely delivery and inventory accuracy. The Warehouse Associate works closely with supervisors, drivers, and administrative staff to maintain a smooth and efficient logistics operation.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload trailers, containers, and trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment
- Must have experience utilizing forklift attachments such as shifters, extensions, rotators, push pull, and clamps
- Accurately pick, stage, and prepare customer orders for shipment according to specifications
- Receive inbound freight, verify product counts against packing slips/bills of lading, and report discrepancies
- Label, wrap, and secure freight properly for storage or shipment
- Perform inventory cycle counts, stock replenishment, and maintain accurate warehouse records
- Ensure warehouse, aisles, docks, and staging areas remain organized and free of hazards
- Assist with trailer checks, sealing, and documentation when required
- Operate RF scanners, warehouse management systems (e.g., SAP, Yardview, Maves, AX), and complete required data entry
- Support quality and compliance requirements, ensuring proper handling of products according to company and customer standards
- Communicate effectively with drivers, administrative staff, and supervisors to ensure deadlines are me
- Follow all safety guidelines, wear proper PPE, and immediately report unsafe conditions or equipment issues
- Assist with other duties or special projects as assigned
Key Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience for 2+ years
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (forklift certification is a plus) for 2+ years
- Basic computer and data entry skills; experience with WMS or ERP systems (SAP, Yardview, Maves, AX) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling, labeling, and recording freight
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher level education, certifications, or training in a related field
