Waterjet Operator Location: Mishawaka, IN Shift: 1st Shift | 8:30 AM–5:00 PM | Monday–Friday Overtime: Available 6:30 AM–5:00 PM on weekdays and 6:30 AM–10:30 AM on Saturdays Pay: $23.00–$26.00/hour, based on experience and inventory management abilities Job Summary Are you a dependable manufacturing professional who thrives in a role where accuracy and reliability matter? We're seeking a Waterjet Operator to join our team in Mishawaka, IN. In this role, you'll operate two waterjet cutting machines and a robotic part-marking cell that serves as the starting point for the production process. You'll be responsible for producing precision-cut components, managing raw material inventory, and maintaining the steady flow of materials that supports the company's finished goods operation. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, dependable, and experienced with machine operation and inventory management. What You'll Be Doing As a Waterjet Operator, your core responsibilities will include: Waterjet Operation: Safely operate two waterjet cutting machines and a robotic part-marking cell to produce high-quality composite parts using pre-programmed machine code while maintaining production schedules. Material Handling: Lift and position composite panels into the waterjet equipment for processing. Quality Inspection: Inspect finished parts using steel rulers and digital calipers to verify dimensional accuracy and quality specifications. Inventory Management: Accurately manage raw material inventory by lot number and complete inventory transactions and scrap records in a timely manner. Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance, machine startup checks, cleanup, and pumping system maintenance. Production Support: Communicate equipment or quality concerns promptly to help maintain an efficient production flow. In addition, you will read and follow documented work instructions, maintain accurate production records, support other manufacturing operations as needed, and keep your work area clean, organized, and safe. What We're Looking For Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred Up to 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred Previous machine operation experience required Strong inventory management and material tracking experience highly preferred Ability to read and follow work instructions, documented procedures, and quality standards Ability to inspect parts and verify dimensional and quality specifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting production and delivery schedules Willingness to work overtime as production demands require Clear verbal and written communication skills Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs as needed Reliable attendance and exceptional dependability Skills: Machine Operation: Experience operating automated manufacturing equipment while maintaining consistent production quality. Inventory Management: Ability to accurately receive, track, and transact production materials with a high degree of accuracy. Inventory management is a critical skill for success in this position. Precision Measurement: Ability to verify dimensional accuracy using measuring tools such as steel rulers and digital calipers. Dependability & Professionalism: Demonstrates integrity, maintains a positive attitude, communicates openly with teammates, works well under pressure, and consistently completes work accurately and on time.
