Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Shift: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM | Monday–Thursday
Pay: $20.00/hour 

Job Summary 

We're looking for a skilled and dependable MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for performing manual MIG welding operations, interpreting engineering drawings, and producing high-quality welded products that meet company and customer specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship. 

What You'll Be Doing 

As a MIG Welder, your core responsibilities will include: 

  • Performing MIG Welding Operations: Set up component parts in fixtures and perform manual MIG welding according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. 

  • Reading Blueprints and Drawings: Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality documents to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations. 

  • Inspecting Weld Quality: Examine completed welds and workpieces to ensure products meet quality and performance standards. 

  • Using Hand and Power Tools: Safely operate hand tools such as files, hammers, and snips, as well as power tools including sanders, drills, riveters, and grinders. 

  • Maintaining Production Standards: Complete work efficiently while meeting production schedules and quality requirements. 

  • Following Safety Procedures: Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. 

In addition, you may assist with material handling, equipment maintenance, and other fabrication duties as assigned. 

What We're Looking For 

Qualifications 

  • Previous MIG welding experience preferred. 

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications. 

  • Experience using common hand and power tools. 

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. 

Skills 

  • MIG Welding: Ability to perform quality welds that meet specifications and standards. 

  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings and work instructions. 

  • Quality Control: Ability to inspect welds and identify defects or inconsistencies. 

  • Tool Operation: Experience using hand tools and fabrication equipment safely and effectively. 

  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify issues and make necessary adjustments during fabrication processes. 

  • Safety Awareness: Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods. 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. 

  • Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift. 

  • Ability to safely operate welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools. 

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, welding fumes, and production equipment.
