Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Welder to join our team in Comstock Park, MI. This is a steady, year-round opportunity in a union shop. You’ll work with blueprints, specifications, and instructions to fabricate products using hand tools, machine tools, and welding equipment, collaborating with other departments as needed.
Responsibilities for the Welder
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and/or verbal instructions
- Plan and complete fabrication tasks using hand tools, machine tools, and welding equipment
- Perform structural welding and fabrication work
- Collaborate with other departments to complete projects
- Follow all safety and quality standards
Key Qualifications for the Welder
- High school diploma or GED
- Welding experience required (certification is a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand throughout the shift
Preferred Skills for the Welder
- Familiarity with break forming, welding, and other structural fabrication processes
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering blueprints
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
