Job Summary
Workbox Staffing is hiring a Wire / Start-Up Technician in Comstock Park, MI!
In this role, you’ll be wiring custom industrial HVAC units by mounting electrical devices, running conduit, and connecting wiring to transformers, drives, and other electrical components. You’ll work with PLCs, VFDs, and motor controls while reading control schematics and blueprints. Responsibilities
- Wire and install components such as motor controls, burner controls, VFDs, PLCs, and damper controls.
- Mount and connect electrical devices using hand and power tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, drills, etc.).
- Bend and install conduit.
- Read and interpret control schematics and blueprints.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform troubleshooting and assist with start-up and testing procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Perform other maintenance tasks as needed.
Key Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; electrical trade school a plus.
- Previous electrical experience required (industrial/manufacturing preferred).
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and follow electrical codes.
- Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable standing for long periods and working in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and control systems.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative to resolve issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
